Evy loves, loves, loves Elmo! She sleeps with a stuffed Elmo, she loves to watch Sesame Street, read Elmo books and wear shirts with Elmo on it. I was thrilled when my friend let us borrow an Elmo costume for Halloween. What could be more perfect for this Elmo lover?
Silly mom. We have had the costume around the house for weeks trying to coax Evy to put it on. "I not wear dat" she says every time we ask her to put it on. If you ask her what she's going to be for Halloween she responds "Elmo." But, she won't put it on. Some people may be wagering on the outcome of the Iowa vs MSU game this weekend, but in our house the wager is on the Halloween costume. Elmo or No Elmo? Only time will tell...

She probably thinks Elmo will eat her like the little boy in the picture....I mean really, all you see is his head!! I think I know where she's coming from!! >^..^<
I think I would take the stress away completely and just let her dress up as a princess....you can pick them up pretty cheap in the "princess aisle" at Target or Walmart!!!! Problem solved!!!!
Try putting it on in the mirror. We were diverted to the bumble bee, but I bought this costume long and ago and I couldn't get Ella to take it off. I think there's pics on my blog of Ella in it you could show her!

I agree...it does sort of look like a child-eating-Elmo costume. My bet's on 'no elmo'.
Evy's not alone in not wanting to wear costumes. I actually had to cut a huge slit/make velcro tabs in the side of Mia's lamb costume [sleeveless hoodie] last night because she freaked out every time we'd try to slip it over her head. Peter's friend was relaying the story on Saturday of his 2yrold son who was an "angry spider" for halloween - just a spider costume, but his son hated it and would become very angry when they tried to put it on...hence, "angry spider" :)
I'm wagering Evy will be a princess...
We have a princess dress if you need it!

Sam was TERRIFIED of the Thomas the Tank Engine costume at Evy's age. You know the one that is just a hat and then the rest is kind of like a sandwich board? TERRIFIED!!!!
Try having another kids put it on... then maybe she'll want it. I hope you get it figured out because Veda will go bonkers if she gets to see little Ev dressed as Elmo on the blog.
Evy is DEFINITELY a Princess...or Little Mermaid...although the tail thing may also freak her out:). BTW..what does a Little Mermaid costume look like? SOS
