Standards

Charlie is enrolled in the extended day program at preschool which means she gets to stay an extra hour and eat her lunch there. I have to pack her lunch every day and follow the DHS standards of:
-one meat or meat substitute
-one grain
-1% milk
-Two fruits, two veggies or one of each

Some days I rock it. Some days I'm not so great. Discovering that raisins count as a fruit was a life saver!

Baller

Evy agreed to try out basketball again this year. She played two years ago and hated it. This year things are going much better. I think it helps that she has a good coach and that she is on a team with several girls from her school. She has made a few baskets and it's fun to watch her have fun on the court with her friends!

Donuts with Dad

Charlie's preschool hosted a Donuts with Dad event. So, Scott got to go to her classroom for about an hour. Charlie thought their picture was so funny because dad wore "Girl glasses."

Master of Disaster

Will has definitely outdone the girls with his ability to tear the house apart. He is in to everything! The other day I took about 15 minutes to put some laundry away. When I finished I found the entire contents of our hallway closet on the living room. And, he unrolled the paper towels to create a bed for himself. He was laying on the roll saying "Night Night." With this kid in the house I take two steps forward and two steps backwards every time I try to complete a task while leaving him unattended.

Friend Fun

Our friends came to visit! So fun seeing this crew and taking in a basketball game with the big kids. The little boys got left with a sitter so we could mostly enjoy the game!

Cast off!

Will had his cast on for just 3.5 weeks! The cast removal was a piece of cake but the following days were not. When the cast came off he did not want to put any weight on his leg and refused to walk for 5 days! Once he started walking again he walked with a limp but eventually got back to his old self.

Christmas with Grandparents

We have some pretty spoiled and lucky kids who get to celebrate Christmas with two sets of Grandparents!

We spent the weekend of January 2/3 with Grammy Sherry and Papa Dick.

Will got lots of cleaning supplies, maybe this will keep him from dragging all of my stuff out!

Charlie loves to play games and now she has another one to add to her collection.

Rose Bowl Bust

Our dear Hawkeyes made it to the Rose Bowl for the first time in 25 years. We were pretty excited and I bought Rose Bowl shirts for everyone. We went to a friend's house for a small family celebration. Unfortunately, the game was ugly. The Hawks got beat bad. But we started playing Pictionary and had a great time anyway. Go Hawks!
