Memorial Day 2018

Hot was the word for Memorial Day 2018. The temperature was in the high 90s for the entire weekend. I don't think we could have packed anything else into our schedule if we tried. On Friday night Evy and Charlie both had friends over for a sleepover.

It was 90 degrees but the weirdos were outside in their fleece pajamas on the hover boards?!?!

The kids were with a sitter on Saturday while Scott and I met up with some friends on the lake. Evy got invited over to a friend's house at the last minute to meet her new kittens!

On Sunday we hit up the pool and ended the day with a party at our friend's house. The water balloon fight might have been a highlight of the weekend.

On Monday we met up with some friends on the lake. Evy liked cuddling their dog Tilly.

Will: Last Day of 3 year old Preschool

What a year it has been for Will! I was scared to death to drop him off on his first day of preschool because he has always had major separation anxiety. Fast forward to the end of the year where he is comfortable going to school and has made great friends!

Will and his best buddies Jack and Connor.

End of year picnic where Will did not want to get his picture taken.

Good job buddy!

Dance Recital 2018

Charlie completed another fun year of dance with her recital on Sunday. It was a 5 p.m. recital and didn't get over until 7:45 so it made for a long late night for all of us! She performed a tap dance to Twist and Shout and a Jazz dance to Better When I'm Dancing. She is quick to make friends and had a fun class of girls! She was in a mixed 1-2 level class with girls 4 years older than her and she kept up great!

Evy 3rd Grade Field Trip

I make every effort to chaperone the kid's field trips. Thankfully Grandma Joan was able to stay with Will so I could go along with Evy on her 3rd grade trip to a local state park. I love getting to know the kids in her class and all of their personalities crack me up.

Lunch break

Checking out some animal bones on the prairie. Evy was the first to spot them and was pretty proud of herself for the find.

Iowa Speed(ster)

Evy is fast. Even the boys in her class say she is fast. So I thought she would enjoy doing track this spring. The practices were at 5 p.m. on Sundays and none of us liked the practice time. At the end of the practice session they got to compete in a track meet with other teams from around the state. Boy did Evy shine! She competed in the long jump. Placed 6th in the 200 meter. Placed 10th in the 100 meter and her 4 x 100 team placed 2nd. She ran in the age 9-10 division with about 40 other girls. It was a fun day.
