Green Day

Every month Charlie's preschool works on spelling a new color. Then, they have a day where they dress up in that color and sing a song for the parents. Green Day!

Neighborhood Hangout

Our house seems to be the hangout place in the neighborhood. On any given day there can be between 5 and 15 kids. Dogs and other assorted ride on toys show up as well. I don't mind. It keeps my kids entertained and I can somewhat keep an eye on all the shenanigans.

Easter Fun

The Easter bunny did not disappoint. He left baskets in the house and eggs all over the back yard. Unfortunately, it was raining so our egg hunt was a little soggy.

Jackpot!

Our little binky addict found an old bag full of pacifiers from when the girls were babies. His face lit up like he had just hit the biggest jackpot ever!

Coloring Easter Eggs

The dye kit I bought this year was a little different than what we've had in the past. Instead of placing the eggs in cups of liquid you put the eggs in plastic bags and then put some colored gel in the bag. It was an easy way for the kids to do the work without making a huge mess. It also allowed Will to participate. Check out the photo below to see how his egg survived the process.

Walking Home

We live about 1 mile from Evy's school. I drop her off and pick her up every day. On Thursdays she gets out pretty early so I typically have to wake Will up to go get her. Today, we let her walk home with friends for the first time. The second I knew school was out I was nervous. Today's parents over protect their kids and this is causing all kinds of issues. I know we need to let our kids learn and develop independence, but man that is hard! As I watched out the window for her I kept thinking about all of the bad things that could happen. And then, I saw her walking up the sidewalk. Best moment ever.

Spring Break--The Big Finish

We were home for the last few days of break and still had a great time. I rarely get to take all three kids to the Children's Museum. The girls had a blast building this huge fort. It even included a pool and patio.

Evy was proud of the "entrance" she designed.

Charlie built this chair.

Will just likes doing what his sisters do.

On Friday night Charlie and I got to have a date night! Charlie received a ticket to Peppa Pig from Grammy and Papa at Christmas. She loved the show and I loved the opportunity to spend some one on one time with this sweet girl.

Peppa Pig selfie!

Evy got to have her first friend over for a sleepover. They had a great time playing dolls, building forts, painting their nails and watching movies. Good grief, they sound almost like teenagers!

Spring Break 2016

We started off our spring break by visiting my brother and his family to celebrate my niece's 3rd birthday. No photographic evidence of this exists because there were 6 children under the age of 7 under one roof and there is no time for picture nonsense when someone always needs a snack, a drink, or an owie comforted.

Then, we went to Great Wolf Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells for two nights. Waterpark, MaqiQuest, sugar, junk food. All good fun. Will had a fun two days with Grandma and Papa.

I got smart this year and packed food for breakfast and lunch in the hotel room.

Ice cream at Goody Goody Gum Drop. The girls were in heaven in this candy store.

A quick drink for mom and dad. Also, some cheese curds, because, duh, we're in Wisconsin!

Storytime at Great Wolf!

No trip to the Dells would be complete without some time in the arcade.

Dinner delivered by train!

Pacifier Problem

Neither one of the girls cared for a pacifier. I don't think Evy ever used one and Charlie was done by 3 months. Will, on the other hand, loves his binkies! He goes to sleep with at least 3 of them in his crib and wants to carry them around with him all day while he is awake. Sometimes he even eats his meals while he has a binkie in his mouth! This is a habit I'm willing to entertain for a while longer as I am constantly having to wake him up to either take the girls to school or pick Evy up after school. He gets lugged around to meetings, appointments, the girl's activities, and every errand possible. The pacifier makes my life easier. So, it will stay for the time being.

First Grade Lunch Date

Evy eats lunch at school at 11:06. Parents are free to visit for lunch anytime. I don't know why it had not occurred to me before to take Charlie and Will to school for lunch with Evy?!?! So, we went today. Charlie was so excited she asked me about 40 times when we were going. I packed a lunch for Evy, Charlie, and Will (I no longer live in a world where I believe that I will actually be able to eat while managing 3 kids) and we had such fun eating lunch with Evy and her friends in the lunchroom. I love seeing all of her friends and their personalities crack me up! Charlie earned a green ticket for good behavior from one of the lunchroom attendants so I think we will be allowed to go back.

Jail Break

Will has always gone down for naps very easily. Our routine is to change his diaper, put on his sleep sack and read a few books. Then, I hand him his binkies and put him in his crib. He falls asleep quickly and sleeps for 2 to 3 hours. By far, he has been our best napper. So, imagine my surprise when I put him down for a nap and then went upstairs to the kitchen to clean up the lunch mess. I heard a noise, turned around, and saw Will standing in the living room wearing his sleep sack. I had to stop and think for a minute as I wasn't sure what had just happened. I put him back in his crib and the same thing happened 2 more times. Then, I watched him on his monitor and saw that he was very easily swinging his legs over the crib and getting out. After putting him back in his crib about 25 times he finally stayed in and fell asleep. Luckily, a friend suggested turning his crib around so that the low portion of the crib faces the wall. This has worked like a charm and I'm hoping we won't have another jail break anytime soon.

Modeling Gig

I've started helping a friend with some marketing for her business. I needed a model so Charlie volunteered to help me out with some pictures. She got paid $1!

Best Buddies

When Evy and Charlie were both home they were the best of friends. Wherever we went to play they always played together. They were buddies. Now that Evy is at school Charlie and Will are starting to develop the same bond. They are buddies, partners in crime and it is so cool to watch another bond develop between these stinkers.
