Share Day and Half Birthday

Charlie got to celebrate her half birthday at school today! She asked me to make pumpkin muffins to take as her treat. I have never made pumpkin muffins before and did not know that Charlie has ever eaten a pumpkin muffin before so the request caught me a little off guard. I was happy to fulfill her request and try out a new recipe! She also got to bring show and tell items for "share day." They do the "Share" at the beginning of school so I stayed to watch the presentation. Charlie was adorable and so proud of her time. Her classmates asked very inquisitive questions like "What are their names?" "Where did you get them?" and "Where do you keep them?"

Dog Crazy

Evy has become obsessed with getting a puppy. She didn't have school today so we went to a local pet store to check out the dogs. She fell in love with this one. I don't care if we ever have a pet, but Scott and Evy are really into a dog so I'm leaving it all up to them. I think they've agreed on either a yellow lab or a golden retriever although I think they are still negotiating the timeframe. Evy wants a dog tomorrow, but I think Scott is trying to put her off for a few years.

Ski Date

Evy got to leave school a little early so that she and Scott could take off on their 3rd annual ski adventure. I'm not sure who loves it more. Scott? Or, Evy. Evy took a lesson while Scott skied and then they took a break and ate a bunch of junk food. Then the skied some more and took another break and ate more junk food. This was the first time that Evy took the ski lift instead of the magic carpet. She went down a green course for the first time also! Scott said it was nearly impossible to get Evy off the mountain (hill?). Evy is a great skier!

Scott kept sending me pictures of him and Evy having fun so Charlie and I had to take some photos of the fun we were having at home.

The Big Mess

Because Will gets schlepped around everywhere he eats a lot in his carseat. He makes huge messes and I don't care. In this picture we've just been to Hy-Vee and they have free cookies for kids. I always choose one without frosting but today they all had frosting. Bummer. Don't look under his carseat....I'm afraid something might be growing there.

A Super Super Bowl

Scott's team, the Bronco's were in the Super Bowl. So, we decided not to go anywhere to watch the game. Scott wanted to be able to see and hear the entire thing. We had a party in the basement with guacamole, nachos, and pizza. And....the Broncos won!!!!
