Evy has been very slow to lose teeth. Apparently I was the same way. More than half way through 2nd grade and she has only lost 3 teeth. Most recently her top ones have been hanging by a thread and making her look like a snaggle tooth as they basically stick straight out. She worked pretty hard on this one and after about 30 minutes and some tears it was out!

Little Mommy
Evy loves to mother Will. And she is good at it. Will often allows her to mother him and will even call her Mommy when they are role playing. Sometimes I get confused and think he is speaking to me so he has taken to calling Evy "Little Mommy". Naturally, that makes me "Big Mommy" which I can't say I love.

Baller
The Iowa Women's basketball team was in the NIT Tournament and hosted two rounds at Carver. On a whim we went to the first game. The women played hard and won and Evy really wanted to go to the 2nd game. So, I took her and two of her basketball teammates. Girl power!

Bowling
We went bowling. We all used bumpers, because you know, kids. I had the lowest score and I was actually trying.
Kid's Baking Championship
We give the kids free reign of kids shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime. There's some really brainless stuff out there and I'm trying to encourage some better show choices. Evy came across the Kid's Baking Championship on Food Network and I've been pleased with the creativity it has spurred. We have made donuts and waffle creations. Evy loves the waffle, nutella, and strawberry creation. Charlie has always been my baker helper and still enjoys helping mix up new creations.

Spring Break 2017
Off to Naples to spend 5 nights with Grammy and Papa! The kids have been counting down for months.
Will packed his ball, gun, and pajamas.
We drove to Chicago to catch a flight. Much cheaper than flights from Cedar Rapids. Although, when all of the cheap parking lots are under construction and you are forced to pay $40 per night for parking it kind of cuts into your savings! Ugh! We will look into other parking options next time!
This time everyone was easily entertained with electronics which made the flight much easier!
Dinner at DQ after getting off the airplane!
First order of business was swimming in the pool at Grammy and Papa's condo. The kids would do this all day long if we let them.
Off to the beach to catch the sunset.
It wouldn't be a trip to Naples without a stop at the zoo. Will got sick the day before we left and apparently shared his stomach flu with Scott who unfortunately got hit with the bug while driving in the car. It makes for a pretty great story, but the short version is: no zoo for Scott.
The kids got to feed the giraffes.
The kids love the zoo, but they are also aware that a trip to the zoo means Grammy and Papa are going to treat them to some awesome stuffed animals from the gift shop. Pretty sure they like the zoo mostly for the gift shop!
Camel rides!
Back to the beach.
We rented a kayak. Evy really liked it. Charlie got a little freaked out when we went out too far.
One fancy dinner out for Mexican.
Airboat tour. So fun!
Looking for gators!
It was unseasonably cool so we have jeans, jackets and beach towels to keep us warm.
Will has only been out of his crib for a few weeks so not yet a pro at sleeping in a bed. He was on an air mattress at the foot of my bed. He kept crawling into bed with me. I kept putting him back on his air mattress. Needless to say we are not quite to the point where Mom can have a relaxing night's sleep while on vacation. Almost there!
When we got back to Chicago our van wouldn't start. Luckily it was just a dead battery so after waiting for a jump we were on our way back home. A successful trip with fun stories to share for years.

Bike Gang
We purchased a tagalong bike from some friends so now our biker gang is complete. Evy rides independently. Charlie and I ride tandem and Will gets pulled behind Scott's bike in the carrier. A real tough crew.

Season Wrap Up
Evy's basketball season wrapped up today. At the beginning of the season she wasn't too excited about playing. She went to all of the practices and all of the games without complaining, but did not play a very active role in the games. I'm not sure what happened at the last game but she was on a roll and touched the ball more in this one game than she had all season. The girls had some cupcakes to celebrate a great season.
