Now that I am unemployed we had to find a part-time (CHEAPER) preschool for Charlie. I feel very lucky that we were able to get into a great program at the last minute. Charlie goes to preschool three mornings a week and is adjusting so well to her new school, teacher, and friends.
At back to school night we got to see Charlie's classroom and meet her teacher.
Charlie is participating in the extended day program that includes eating lunch at school. She has to bring her lunch every day and I have to pack it according to DHS regulations. 1 Dairy, 1 Fruit, 1 Veggie, 1 Grain and 1 Meat must be included every day, even if your child won't eat the item. Following these strict guidelines was pretty intimidating to begin with, but I think I have it under control now.
Charlie was so proud on her first day and felt like a big girl taking her own lunch box!
She wanted to do a funny pose on the front step like Evy did on her first day.
Drop off! She did so great. Not a single tear. The drop off routine is a lot more involved than the simple "drop them off in their room and run" routine at daycare. Each morning I sign Charlie in, she hangs up her backpack, uses the restroom and washes her hands, puts her lunch in the refrigerator, then we wait in line for the classroom to open. The door opens at 9 and Charlie finds her name tag and puts it on the chart, then she finds a spot to sit on the floor.
