We've started packing our bags for the hospital. I think I have all of the major items covered, clothes for the baby, clothes for me, car seat, baby book, camera. But the list of suggested items says something about "comfort items" ....soft music, candles. I'm not sure soft music or candles are going to do anything to help comfort me during labor. In fact, if I hear Josh Groban while I'm in labor I may become more enraged. Do any of you have suggested comfort items or is this just more "fluff"?

I can no longer reach my toes. My toenail polish has needed changed for a week, but I kept putting it off because I knew it would be a struggle and I would end up out of breath. Finally, last night I told Scott he was going to have to help me. He removed the polish for me but neither one of us were willing to take that next step of applying more polish. At least the chipped up polish is gone.
*Not my toes in the picture.
This weekend we plan to research video cameras and make a purchase so that we have one in hand in time to record Baby C.'s entry into the world. Do any of you have product recommendations?
Lately, I've found myself reciting the mantra of The Little Engine That Could.
What stands between me and the weekend? One telemarketing campaign meeting, one presentation to undergraduate marketing students, and one data conversion meeting. Plus a bunch of unforeseen firefighting, I imagine.
I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.

My brain is mush. Fielding 1.5 million questions a day used to leave me feeling energized, today it exhausts me. Solving a problem used to seem like an exciting challenge, today I cannot muster up enough mental energy to tackle a problem. On Saturday, Scott left our seats for about 15 minutes to hit the concession stand. When he returned I couldn't tell him anything that had taken place since he left. This morning I put ice in my coffee cup instead of my water bottle.

We had a crazy weekend full of celebrations. The photos don't really do it justice and I realize I forgot to capture most of it in pictures but I chalk that up to the madness that was our weekend.
I bought this 3/4 sleeve sweater at Motherhood and wore it for the first time today. It was so refreshing to wear something that didn't have flowers on it and didn't tie at the waist. Only 6 more weeks to go but I am getting a major itch to update my maternity selections. You'll probably find me at the mall by weeks end.
We were watching the Republican National Convention last night and I noticed that the Indiana delegates were wearing buttons that said "Hoosiers for the Hot Chick" others were wearing buttons that said "Sarah is a Babe."
COME ON PEOPLE! Sarah Palin is the first woman to be nominated on the Republican presidential ticket and the only way you can describe her is based on her looks? How about intelligence? Strength? No....the best way to describe women is to base it on their looks. Guess we haven't come that far.
I've accused Scott of traveling every Tuesday night in order to avoid taking out the trash. I'm not kidding....he's gone 90% of Tuesday nights. So, I sit here blogging about taking out the trash in order to avoid the chore for another 5 minutes. I have developed a technique to get the recycling bin down the drive way. I just kick it. It makes an obnoxiously loud sound, but it saves my back a few more aches. Alright, no more procrastination.
