Pet Lovers

The kids, especially Evy, want a dog. Really bad. The next best thing to getting a dog is going to Pet Land and playing with all of the dogs. I really dislike the crowded scene at Pet Land so Scott was nice enough to take the kids for a fix.

Evy loves the Pomeranian and really really wants one!

Dandelion Wine

Each year a local winery purchases dandelions for $5 per gallon. We had fun with this last year so decided to do it again this year. This year we had the entire neighborhood in on the project. It was hilarious...we talked about quality control, punching a time clock, and the story of The Little Red Hen. The kids wanted to buy ice cream with their earnings. We picked 2 gallons of dandelions and earned $10, ice cream cost $30 for this group. Next year perhaps we will add economics into the lesson.

Sugar Addicts

The kids eat way too much candy. They love it. Everything sour and everything gummy. It does not help when your father runs a company that owns convenience stores. Literally two boxes full of samples from one of his suppliers:

Potty Trained

This guy potty trained in about 5 days. We started off offering some M&M's as bribery and he did great! As the 3rd child you do not have the luxury of staying at home all day so we have been riding around town with the little potty seat in the back. He's used it in several parking lots but has had very few accidents. He's even dry during naps! Now, if he could just manage the whole process by himself we would be set!

Easter

The Easter Bunny left eggs all over the backyard! The girls were awake by 7 and ready to hunt the eggs.

Will was on a sugar high pretty much all day.

New bike! An early birthday present for Will. We thought it was time for him to get an upgrade from the 12 year old garage sale hand me down that all of our kids have used.

Also an early birthday present for Charlie! Her hand me down bike needed a new tire and we decided to go for a new bike instead. Her first brand new bike! She loves it but it's taking some time to get used to the hand brakes.

Let's Go Fly A Kite

Each year a community group sponsors a kite flying event in honor of all children who have been impacted by child abuse. I'm not sure how these things go together but we participate, nonetheless. Free kites for our kids and a fun outing. Then we brought all of the kites home and the kids got them tangled about 25 times and we tried not to commit any child abuse. Maybe that's how it comes full circle???

Weekend at Grandma's and Papa's

The cousins spent their spring break at Grandma's and Papa's so we had to join in on the fun too.

Will, watching crazy uncle Caleb.

Yes kids, Uncle Caleb is hanging in the tree with a chainsaw. Do not try this at home.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed.

The kids thought that Caleb could use a ladder.

Evy loved driving the lawn mower.

Will helped pick up sticks and take them to the wood pile.

Charlie's turn to drive.

Lots of playing in the creek. We had the wet pants, boots, and socks to prove it!

By the end of the trip Evy was driving the lawn mower (tractor) by herself. She says she wants to be a farmer when she grows up.
