All The Ears Pierced Today

We were at the mall today to see a movie but the fire alarm had gone off earlier in the day and pushed the entire movie schedule back so it turns out we had an hour to kill. We walked by Claire's and Scott told the girls they should get their ears pieced since we had extra time. Charlie said she might. She thought about it and decided......nope. We went to the move and afterward, Charlie decided she would get her ears pierced. Evy was a big no. Charlie did great and we went home. Later that night I took the girls back to the mall to look for some shorts. As we were driving to the mall Evy said, "Drive to Claire's right now before I change my mind." Ha! So, she also got her ears pierced today.  

Evy's First Babysitting Job

Evy has always loved all things cute. Baby animals and little kids hold a special place in her tender heart. She was thrilled to get her first babysitting job today. She stayed with my friend's daughter for 3 hours and earned $8 per hour! She woke up and got dressed with no complaints and rode her bike down to her first job. She doesn't have a cell phone so I sent her with her iPad so she can FaceTime if there are any problems. Crazy that my baby is now the babysitter!

Kona Ice in The Hood

A perfect summer evening. The Kona Ice truck swinging through the neighborhood and Mom saying yes to overpriced ice. The kids were in heaven dancing to the music coming from the truck. Who doesn't need some Kona Ice at 5:30 p.m. on a Wednesday? 

Summer Trip to Keo

This weekend we had a ceremony to bury Grandma Maxine's ashes in Keosauqua. The cousins all stayed for a few days to hang out at Grandma and Papa's. 

No trip to Keosauqua would be complete without a trip to Misty's and the city park. We had to encourage the kids to take a little walk over the bridge.

Camp Wapsie 2019

This was Charlie's first year and Evy's second year at Camp Wapsie! The poor girls had a very hot week at the camp with a heat index that was 110 most days! With no air conditioning that made for a very hot week at camp! 

Charlie and her friends Carly and Rilynn were in Teepee village for the week. 

Evy and her friends were in Cabin 7 for the second year. 

Bo Learns to Swim

We thought we should find out if Bo could swim or not. So, we took him out to the local beach. Whoops! All the signs said no pets allowed but we broke the rules. Bo did a great job swimming although the kids quickly learned that they didn't like swimming with him. Paws with claws are not fun to swim into. 

Guttenburg

Scott and the kids spent the weekend in Guttenburg while Bo and I hung out at home. The kids love their time at the houseboat, love the beach, and love all the candy and snacks that Grammy stocks for them!

Will loves backing his trailer in so he can get his boat into the water. He built a marina.
