Charlie is playing soccer for the second year. She has figured out how to score this year and it's a blast to watch her play. She is speedy, but didn't have much accuracy in her kicks. She asked me to help her practice kicking and after about 20 minutes she had it down. She's a scoring machine!

Dandelion Wine
A local winery was buying dandelions by the gallon so we thought it would be a great activity for the kids. Evy and Charlie picked three gallons of dandelions in our neighborhood. They earned $5 per gallon for their work and promptly walked across the road to the toy store and spent it.

Kindergarten Round Up
Charlie just makes the age cutoff to go to Kindergarten this year so we've been debating whether to send her on time or hold her back a year. By January it was clear that she is ready to go. She is so excited to go to school and constantly asks when she gets to go. Today it was her turn for Kindergarten round up. She told me, "Mom, I want you to show me where I'm supposed to go and then I'm going to walk in by myself." When Will called the school "Evy's school" Charlie corrected him and said it is Evy and Charlie's school. She keeps telling me how excited she is to walk down the path to school with Evy and asks if she gets to start next week. At her preschool conference today her teacher told me that Charlie is doing "remarkable" with her letters and numbers and can write her first and last name. I hope she keeps up this excitement well through Kindergarten!
And because it seems like just yesterday, here's the post about Evy's Kindergarten round up.

One Step Forward and Two Steps Back
Charlie doesn't have preschool on Tuesdays so after we drop Evy off at school we typically go home and I let the kids play while I take care of some things around the house. Charlie has been wanting to paint lately and if Will is awake he thinks he needs to paint too. It took me about 10 minutes to get everything out and ready for them to paint. Then, they painted for about 15 minutes and it took me an hour to bathe them both and clean up all of the paint. Notice Will's blue hair...

Spring Weather
We had the most perfect weekend so we had to get outside and take advantage of it. A local organization was giving away free kites on Saturday. The girls had a great time flying their kites. The strings got tangled up about 45 times, but hey it was great free fun. On Sunday, we took a bike ride to one of our favorite parks. Evy did a great job riding her own bike, the route home was pretty slow as she had to take lots of breaks!

First Time Bowling
We took the kids bowling for the first time and it was a blast! Mostly, a blast. Trying to help two older kids bowl while keeping a one year old who likes to wander all over the bowling alley was a bit of a struggle. Evy and Charlie caught on pretty quick and loved it. They keep asking when we get to go again.
