After a very eventful winter, the girls last day of school was a few days later than originally expected and randomly only 3 hours long. They got out at 10:55 a.m. on the last day! Charlie said goodbye to Mrs. Reeger and 2nd grade while Evy said goodbye to Ms. Starr and 4th grade. Evy and her group of friends had a very emotional goodbye as 3 of the girls will be going to different schools next year as our district adjusts boundaries. Just a few weeks earlier they sent one of their best friends off on a 3-year adventure in Europe with her family. Evy's friend group will definitely have a different feel to it next school year.

Puppy Pick Out Day
Our puppy litter was born on April 10 so we got to head to the farm this weekend to pick out our puppy! We drove to Des Moines and spent the night with Aunt Julie's family and then drove the rest of the way to Clearfield, IA. The farmer brought out 9 puppies. It was their first time on grass so they were falling over and unsteady. All of them sooo cute! Two pups had slightly lighter fur and we noticed a sweet pup hanging out calmly. I said, "What about this one?" and we noticed it had a white spot on its chest and foot. We all quickly agreed that he was the one. We were all shocked when we found out it was a boy! Evy was expecting to pick out a girl. On the 3 hour drive home, we were trying to come up with names. We narrowed it down to Max and Bo.

Biking to School
Evy got a much-needed bike upgrade over the weekend so the girls were excited to ride their bikes to school for the first time. Unfortunately, this spring has been very rainy so there haven't been too many days ideal for bike riding. They took off for the first time this morning with their new bike locks in hand and instructions to take their bike helmets into the school with them. Fingers crossed they were able to figure it all out!
Will's Parkview Preschool Graduation
What a great two years Will had at Parkview. He really came out of his shell and found his confidence! This preschool is so fun - a great art program and even pets coming to school! We couldn't have asked for a better place for him! He developed some close friendships with Aiden, Jack and Hudson.
At graduation, Mrs. Randall announced a few things about each kid. She said Will wanted to be a professional baseball player when he grew up!

Iowa Speed
Evy wrapped up her Iowa Speed season with a very successful performance at the annual Iowa Speed track meet. She got first in the 80 M hurdles - this is the first time she competed in this event. She placed 9th in the 100 Meter and 11th in the 200 Meter dash. This year the competition was tough as Evy was in the 11-12 age group as a 10-year-old. Such a fun day for all of us!
Will and Charlie were along for the snacks.

Charlie's 2nd Grade Field Trip
I love getting the opportunity to chaperone the kid's field trips. It's such a fun way to meet their friends and classmates and spend some fun time with them. This year Charlie's class got to visit the Coralville library, police station, fire station, local Credit Union, Hurts Donuts and city hall. At City Hall, Charlie got to play the role of the city attorney.
