I headed out to Target today to get some socks for Baby C. I was quite perplexed to see that most of their infant socks are "socks with grippers." I suppose it is possible the baby will walk out of the womb, and thus need grippers so she doesn't slip?!?! Anyone else have an explanation for this?

Hmmmm....that is a tough one. I have no clue.
Maybe the "gripper socks" help when you're holding the baby and they start kicking, that way they won't slide out of your arms as easily. Or if you put little shoes on them, they can't kick them off as well!?!? Think velcro in a way.
I figured it out this morning as I put Kate's sock's with grippers on. They actually serve several purposes--brand info (labels are so important to the fashionista), size info (help you figure out which ones the little bugger should fit into), and laundry (it actually helps you match them when they come out of the dryer). Mystery solved.
