The Horror!

This morning I did a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Thing. It made Evy cry for 20 minutes. It made me question how my choices would impact Evy's psychological development. Would she hate me forever?

What did I do, you ask?

I made Evy wear this shirt to school. A perfectly adorable, brand new shirt that has 3/4 length sleeves...it was the 3/4 length sleeves that nearly put her over the edge.

I could have easily changed her shirt, but I didn't. Maybe that was the wrong choice, but this type of irrational behavior drives me nuts. Kind of funny since raising kids is just one long loop of irrational behavior.

Cute shirt. She has strong opinions about her clothing just like her mama did! I probably would have given in & let her take the shirt off. I want to hear what she says after you pick her up today? Maybe she cut the sleeves off at daycare..

Maybe if it was pink it wouldn't have been so awful. You are mean! :)

Right there with ya! It's so freaking hard to decide when to give in and when to push back! Pumpkin patch/outdoor activities with two 5-year old BFF's was nothing but drama this morning!

We're 100% behind your decision, Emily! If you always give in now, just wait till she gets older! :)

I typically give Kate the choice between two shirts, so if she doesn't like one she can go with the other. When she doesn't like either she usually gets pretty quiet and we just wait. And, then I say again, which one. Sorry Evy. Mom 1, Evy 0!
