I grabbed a bag of Twizzlers at the store yesterday. Evy was immediately on to me and wanted to know what they were. I said, "They are a treat. And you can have one after lunch." She proceeded to ask for a treat for the next 45 minutes to which I kept responding, "You may have one after we eat lunch." Evy was playing in the living room while I made lunch so I thought I could sneak a treat for myself before lunch. The second I opened the bag and popped one into my mouth Evy came running in, "Mom, what you eating? What it your mouth?" Just before she reached the kitchen I did what any parent would do. I spit the twizzlers onto the counter and lied.

Hahaha I love this Em! Made me smile! =)
So funny! Or do like I do...clamp your mouth shut and mumble: "nuffin." You know, because that's convincing.
LOL! These little stinkers just KNOW! I get the "Ella like those" when she suspects we're eating something sweet! Even if it's gone....she can still smell it and she KNOWS!
You don't hold yourself to the same standard you hold your child? Shame. Or do what I did, which is almost what Kathryn did - call it something else (but I made it something I KNEW the kids hated). Jane
Or you could use the lame line that you are 'making sure they are safe for her to eat'.
Made me laugh! Did she get to try them after lunch??
