On Saturday night Scott and I went to see George Strait and Reba McEntire in concert. What a show! Reba tore it up and her encore performance of Fancy was Fab-U-lous! George is "authentic" country. On the authenticity scale I can't go much further than George or the stuff gets a little too twangy and honky tonk. I like country, but I mostly stay on the contemporary side of things. George didn't bring any frills with him--just sang for 2 hours strait (get it??). You've gotta have respect for the man. 50 number 1 hits??Country musicians continue to impress me--they sound just as good live as they do on the radio. Not many other genres can make that claim.
I ordered my Alan Jackson tickets this morning and Keith Urban tickets to go on sale April 24. Yee-Haw!

Funny...I never pegged you for a country girl. After hearing about you going to see Brit Brit, I thought you may be strictly pop! I love Reba though...
I think maybe that Britney concert was a turning point in my life. She is a produced pop star with no talent. Her concert was a mess. The country folks--actually talented.
ugh!!!! JEALOUS! I didn't really even want to finish reading so I wouldn't feel bad :) We were going to get tickets, but somehow my older brother thinking it was too expensive dictated the rest of the families decision. I'm still holding a grudge on that one! :)
I'm the same exact way about wanting my live shows to actually have some talent...that's why I won't pay money to see anybody that became famous after a certain time period. Not sure I'll ever be able to do country but I did see Reba a million years ago at the State Fair - you aren't kidding that lady puts on a good gig!
I passed up Alan Jackson, and got tickets for Lady Antebellum. I think either of them should be a lot of fun.
