Did anyone like this movie? I just watched it for the first time on HBO. I was a big fan of the live show, but could hardly stand the movie. Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan were not made for musicals...I fast forwarded through all of their solos. The two and a half star rating was very generous, in my opinion.

I LOVED IT!!!! SORRY. :( I have seen it on broadway a couple of times and loved it then too. I thought Meryl Streep was fantastic. lol oh well............ :)
WHAT!!! I LOVED the movie despite the fact it was a musical. Maybe it's the older women that can relate to Meryl Streep, I don't know...I just really liked the movie!! >^..^<
Lol. I liked it! And Pierce's singing made me laugh so hard.... I watched it twice! :) But I will agree that the live version is much better.
I guess I'm out voted. I wondered if it was just me...must be. I'm normally a sucker for cheesy musicals. I count Hairspray, Greese and Sound of Music among some of my favorite all-time movies.
