Ghost Town

I work for a Big Ten University and my favorite times of the year are in August when the students return to campus, the town buzzing with activity and football just around the corner and May when they all leave for summer break, parking spots empty and downtown peaceful. Graduation was last Saturday which means it's time for the locals to come out of hiding for the summer. Yesterday, Evy and I took a stroll along the river, up through campus, and stopped at the library downtown. The weather was beautiful, there was no foot traffic, and Evy pranced along the sidewalks watching her shadow dance along with her. I think this will be part of our regular routine for the next 3 months.

What, no vomit-covered sidewalks downtown on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings? What will I do with myself?!

Evy skipping down the sidewalk is exactly the feeling I love about summer. Let's have the girls meet up for a lib + ice cream date!
