This is How We Roll

Kids change everything. Some things never change.

Peter Cottontail

Evy had a great first Easter. She spent the day with Grammy and Papa. She had so much fun and impressed everyone with her ability to roll over and almost sit up by herself. Grammy and Papa thought she was a perfect little angel. But just before she left she wanted to prove them wrong and decided to spit up on Grammy's new couch. Whoops! Good thing Evy is grandchild number 6, Grammy barely flinched.

So Big!

Everyone says they grow up so fast. There's no arguing with that when you look at Evy's growth over 5 months. In no time we'll be listening to her give the commencement speech at Harvard and then in another blink be celebrating her victory as the first female President of the United States.

Next....

Ear infection, come on down, you're the next contestant on "What will Evy be Sick with Next." Evy's been battling something for a little over a week. A week ago we took her to the clinic and the diagnosis was a cold and teething. I'm not sure I buy the teething thing. On Saturday she started a horrible cough. Last night she woke up screaming at 12, 2, and 4 a.m. That's not like her so a trip to the doctor this morning revealed......ear infection.

Check Out My Shoes

Evy's favorite people from Tipton (don't worry Cori, you're her favorite person from Rochester) got her these cute little socks that look like shoes. So cute! Scott's affraid that Evy may inherit the over-purchasing-of-shoes disorder that her mom has.

Doll Face

We got lots of good photos this weekend. I don't want to use all of my material in one post but I thought this was a good start. I realize I may be biased but isn't she just adorable?!

Double Whammy!

My employer is experiencing revenue shortfalls (what employer isn't?) so paycuts, layoffs and furloughs are all a very serious reality right now. I am expecting that I will take a 1% to 2% cut in pay next year. If I get to keep my job I am perfectly fine with that. But then I got a real kick to the shin last night when I picked Evy up from daycare. Tuition is going up 4% starting May 1. Oh man, I'm going to have to give up on that dream of retiring at 35.
