It's pretty common knowledge that infants don't sleep through the night. Anyone knows that. But, what they don't tell you is that one year olds, two year olds, and three year olds also don't sleep through the night. I'm guessing this horrible joke continues into age 4, 5, 6, ....infinity, but I haven't personally experienced those ages yet. Last night we were up with Evy three times and only up with Charlie once. Any other dirty little secrets I should know about?

Seriously. The night I was up working on logos til 2:15, Mia woke up screaming twice at 4:something and 5:something. I don't want the two to share a room not because the infant will wake up Mia only, but because I think Mia would wake the infant up as well! Dirty secrets.
The only secret I have is that you will never know all the secrets. Yes, I am enormously helpful like that. You're welcome.
Another Dirty Little Secret: When your child is 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 you sometimes are up until 1 or 2 in the morning waiting for them to get home.
One More Dirty Little Secret: When they finally get home you're so glad they're not dead that you almost forget about being mad and just go to bed.
I have often wanted to write a post like this myself. It's so true---the minute you get one kid sleeping through the night, then the other wakes up with a bad dream...or the stomach flu...
I asked mymmom the other day, "When will I stop being tired all the time?". She said maybe after Maggie goes to college.
See this is why I'm not having anymore kids. There is no way I can be up all night w/ a newborn and function to take care of them all by myself the next day. I heard you become a morning person once you have kids. Lies. I still hate the mornings.
You are my idol though. I don't know how you juggle your career, husband and 2 kids. I can barely function with my much smaller plate. Kudos to you!
Don't even get me started. NONE of my children sleep through the night. If it's not one its the other and then when they're all sick it's and F-ing nightmare! Kids.
