Check Your Water Heater!

A local toddler was recently burned by hot water in her home. The 17-month old had 3rd degree burns from crawling into a bathroom sink and turning on the hot water. Her mother was outside with the dog at the time. It's easy to say "what was that mother doing?" But, let's be honest. We all let our kids out of our sight for 3 minutes. So, check your hot water heater and make sure it's set at 120 degrees. Anything higher is dangerous. We adjusted ours last night.

Thanks, SB, for the reminder.

When I checked ours (which is still on the factory setting since our house is new) it was 130 degrees. Actually, "A"--so I had to find the owner's manual first! Glad we are all committed to keeping our kiddos safe!
