What's in a Name?

I'm quickly learning that there is a mandatory list of questions* that every person is required to ask of a pregnant woman. Also, there is a mandatory order in which these mandatory questions must be asked. My initial analysis has found that the list goes something like this:

Q1: When are you due?
Q2: Do you know what you're having?
Q3: Do you have a name picked out?

I have previously answered both Q1 and Q2 on the blog.
A1: October 18
A2: Girl

But, I haven't yet answered Q3 on the blog so I thought I would go ahead and clear the air by coming forth today with that answer. We have not yet decided on a name, although we have a short list of contenders. That short list includes (in no particular order):
-Evelyn (Evy)
-Emerson
-Madelyn
-Lilian
-Addison

For those of you who are predisposed to smart alec remarks the following names have already been suggested and denied:
Candace (Candy)
Cornelia (Corny)
To get the full impact of these names make sure to add our last name. These names are sure to guarantee our daughter a job in adult entertainment.

So, from our list of 5 which one is your favorite? Or, do you have another name you think we should consider?

*I am not at all annoyed by these questions I just find it very interesting/curious that it's always the same questions in the same order.

I think you are VERY brave to even share your list. Because of course, everyone has an opinion. I am fond of family names (I see a couple) but like all your choices. But doesn't mean I won't do some thinking on this :)

Dude... I was thinking the same thing. Very brave. But all excellent excellent names so you can't go wrong. Evelyn is on my list too... we've talked ourselves silly about names so I think we are just going to the hospital with a list and will decide when we see her. Kathy

I very much like Evelyn. I think that's beautiful. May I also submit "Harper." I love that name and would've used it myself...but I thought it sounded funny with our last name. I'm also fond of "Olivia" (Liv), but I realize that's become quite popular.

I don't mind listening to other people's opinions but I rarely take their opinions to heart so I guess I don't fear getting feedback. I also like the name Vivian, but keep getting stuck on the fact that it was Julia Roberts' prostitute name in Pretty Woman.

Don't let that stop ya...if you decide to name baby girl Cdog Vivian it will take on a completely new meaning pretty quickly:) I promise...a pretty woman of a new sort I suspect!

Okay, now my two cents worth! I like the name Addison and if you need an idea for a middle name, how about Belle (French for Beautiful),that way her initials would be ABC. Also, be prepared for the 4th question. So, when are you having another baby? Aunt Susie

I think they're all great, but have to admit I'm partial to Madalyn as that is the name of my new niece. However, they all are great and sound nice with your last name.

I like Vivian too :)

On the bravery scale -- with 1 being answering an anonymous call on caller ID, and 10 being telling your best girlfriend what you REALLY think of how that dress fits her -- I'd give this post a 3.

And, since Moxie Crimefighter and Diva Thin Muffin are taken, I like Lilian. shrug

Your list is great! I love them all. Personally I love Emerson. My friend had that on her list but ended up having a boy. I like old school names....my first girl will be Eunice. No, seriously. Family names are special! I may email you some more suggestions. I have to brainstorm a bit!!! I am just so excited for you Corndog!

Great names! I hesitate even mentioning this, but I can't help myself. You know what its going to be like in school being teased by all the boys--and you know your daughter's going to be beautiful and well shaped. Emerson may not be the best name for her to have...i.e.: Emersome nice titties! Just saying!

LR,
You are the 3rd person that has brought up the Emerson problem. And for some reason all 3 of you have referenced boobs when saying it!
