If the Dock is a Rockin'...

While in my hometown we took Evy to my grandparent's pond so she could feed the fish. I was sitting on the dock, Evy on my lap throwing fish food in the water. My dad was fishing and my mom, grandma, grandpa, and uncle were all standing on the dock observing. I commented on some bubbles, saying there must be a fish down there. Someone else thought maybe it was a turtle. My uncle said maybe it was the dock. My Dad said, "I don't think there has ever been this much weight on the dock." CRASH! SPLASH! SCREAM! The dock collapsed. I was able to put my hand under Evy's bottom and lift her above the water as I slid off the collapsing dock, into the pond. The water didn't get above Evy's chest. Out of the corner of my eye I saw my mom and dad go flopping into the water. Grandma stood shin deep in the water screaming "I can't swim! I can't swim!" And then...I panicked. My Kate Spade sunglasses had fallen off my head, into the murky water. "WHERE ARE MY SUNGLASSES!?!?" The observers thought I was overreacting a bit, but you don't understand...these expensive sunglasses were bought before child, when I still had some leftover money each month. Now post-child there is no room in the budget for these sunglasses to be replaced. Find the glasses! Mom, take the baby. The glasses were retrieved, no one was injured, my dad's fishing pole was retrieved, but his blackberry was not as lucky. Apparently, the blackberry didn't know how to hold its breath for 15 minutes under water.

Fun at Grandma's and Grandpa's

Evy and I spent Thursday through Sunday at my parents. I'm not sure who is more tired from the trip. Evy, or my poor parents who spent the entire 4 days chasing after a wild toddler, playing hide and seek 1.5 million times and getting up with Evy 3 of the mornings so I could sleep in. We went swimming both in the backyard and at the real pool, helped grandma pick up sticks and throw them in the creek, looked for frogs, went on lots of walks, went out to eat with great-grandma Maxine, visited great-grandma Elouise's cat, and ate Grandpa's famous bunny pancakes. Evy also had some quality relaxation time--watching Alice in Wonderland with Elmo. Ms. Nancy, Grandma's neighbor, gave Evy a singing Elmo. Evy loved it and I think Ms. Nancy was also pretty thrilled to rid herself of an annoying toy.

MIA

I have the perfect light shade of Sephora lip gloss that I keep in my car. It's the perfect go to shade--just a smidge darker than good 'ole chapstick. Last night while in the car Evy wanted to "hold it." It hasn't been seen since and I've crawled all over the back of my car searcing for my long lost friend. Cripes...

No Blue Water!

I thought these Crayola color tablets would add some fun to Evy's bath. A few weeks ago I dropped a blue tablet in and Evy freaked out. She wanted out of the water immediately. I had to empty the bath, wash out every trace of blue and refill the tub before she would even consider getting back in the tub. I must have scarred her for life because every time I mention a bath now she says, "No blue water."

Big Baby in Little PJ's

These PJ's were some of my favorite when Evy was a newborn. In the top picture you can see she is mad because she can't get them on. Happens to the best of us, honey.

The Molars are Coming to Town!

Holy sleeping hiatus! The molars are coming to town. Evy has been a really late teether, but she seems to be making up for lost time--lots of teeth are coming in now. Including the dreaded molars! She's been waking up during the night this week and getting up super early. I think we'll have a date with our friend Ibuprofen before bed tonight.

What's Wrong with this Picture?

Notice how Evy is 1) Standing still, 2) Looking at the camera, and 3) smiling? Well, these pictures were taken by her babysitter on Monday evening while Scott and I were out for our anniversary. She doesn't act this good for her parents! Thanks for the pictures and for babysitting KW!
